Hi everyone. This blog is dedicated to all of my friends and family who have been so supportive of my career choice but don't understand the military side of my life very well. This blog is intended to give a detailed description of my deployment to Djibouti in Africa where I have the pleasure of serving as the anesthesiologist at Camp Lemonnier, the military base located in Djibouti.
In case you don't know, I am an active duty officer in the US Navy. I am a Lieutenant currently (and have been selected to promote to the rank of Lieutenant Commander) and am part of the Medical Corps. I get the unique opportunity to provide anesthesia to our active duty servicemen and women daily and now am deployed to provide my services to the deployed military here in Africa for the next four months.
